The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas - The MECC (Saturday)

There's trouble in the hen house! Miss Mona runs the Chicken Ranch, a brothel with a long respected history in a small Texas town. The sheriff looks out for the Chicken Ranch, however when pious reporter Melvin Thorpe exposes the brothel, outside interests want it shut down, putting the governor in a tough spot. Sarina Beach Coconut Festival - Sarina Beach (Saturday)

The Sarina Beach Coconut Festival is tipped to be another cracker event. There’ll be coconut events, palm weaving, de-husking and de-nutting, tropical market shopping, along with a myriad of extraordinary food experiences incorporating local produce and – of course – coconuts! Other highlights will be camel races and rides, spectacular international kite flying display and amazing entertainment. You may even sight a humpback whale on its annual migration. Whatever your tastes we will have something to excite you, so come and join in the fun at one of the most beautiful beaches Queensland has to offer.

Edi's Fundraising Night - Mackay Turf Club (Saturday)

Round up your friends, family and work mates for a night of fun, laughter, trivia, games and entertainment by Luke Miller. Edison Landells hasn’t even turned 2 and he has Leukaemia and we need your help! On the 1st August 2018 - after many weeks of gruelling tests that no child should ever have to endure Edi was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia which affects just 2-3 children every 4 years. Edi is now in for the fight of his life! His first round of chemo already commenced, and he, along with his parents Scott & Kimberley, will be calling The Lady Cilento Hospital home for at least the next 6 months. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Landells family. 

Mackay All Stars Netball Clinic - Mackay Netball Courts (Sunday)

Laura Geitz is excited to be bringing her All Stars Netball Clinics powered by Chemist Warehouse to MACKAY 12-17 year olds this September! Everyone is welcome to attend, not just those from the Mackay Netball Association. During this 2 hour clinic, participants will receive specialist coaching in the position of their choice to help improve the way by a series of professional netballers! Please note that we will be separating players into groups based on their level of ability to ensure each participant has a meaningful learning experience. ADDRESS: Mackay Netball Association, 30 Casey Ave, South Mackay. COST: $66 (incl GST) + Sticky Tickets booking fee. Each participant receives an All Stars Netball Clinic t-shirt, a Chemist Warehouse Netball and a shoe bag

4WD Driving Skills Day - Nth Jacklin Mackay (Sunday)

You're invited to join us at our 4WD Skills Day coming up on Sunday 9th September 2018. This day is held exclusively for North Jacklin customers to learn the basics of four wheel driving. SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN: Stall recoveries in forward & reverse (manual & automatic techniques), Left foot braking, Ascents & Descents, Recovery Techniques, Manoeuvring (pivot points), High Range & Low Range, View a practical demonstration for snatch strap recovery. The cost of the day is $99 per vehicle which includes qualified instructors, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments.

World Suicide Prevention Day - Bluewater Quay (Sunday)

Troppo Treasure Markets - Mount Pleasant Centre (Sunday)

Out of the sun and out of the rain, the Troppo Markets are always popular. It’s on at Mount Pleasant Shopping Centre carpark on the second Sunday of the month from 7.30am until midday. Mackay’s Troppo Treasure Market will keep you coming back with a never-ending variety of items for sale and plenty of entertainment and amusements too. It’s more than just shopping… it turns a Sunday into a fun day.

Day 4 Edi fundraiser - Mount Pleasant Early Learning Centre (Sunday)

Please join the Mount Pleasant Early Learning Centre community for a morning of fundraising in support of the Landells family. Little Edi has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and we want to help! The Mount Pleasant Early Learning Centre car park will be set up with fun for the whole family, from car boot sales, to cupcakes galore, face painting fun for the kids, games area and a sausage sizzle. All funds raised on the day will go towards supporting Edi and his family through this time. Everyone is welcome to help us make a difference in this families life on their journey to good health for Edi.
