Aussie golfer Jarrod Lyle is set for the toughest challenge of his life as he prepares for a stem cell transplant.
The 36-year-old is battling leukaemia for the third time and has opened up about his health on Mark Howard's new podcast "The Moment".
The podcast explores the story behind Jarryd’s extraordinary professional golf comeback at the Australian Masters in 2013.
Jarrod provided an update to listeners as he prepares for the stem cell transplant.
“As of the 29th of November I will be back in hospital to get ready for my (stem cell) transplant which is going to be on December the 6th,” Jarrod says on The Moment.
“After seeing my doctor recently he has pretty much given me about a 25 to 30% chance that this is going to work.
“He’s still confidant that it will work, I’m confidant that it will work. But I’ve also got that thing in the back of my mind that if it doesn’t work then we are kind of in a tougher spot that we’ve ever been in before.”
“Now the battle begins. The biggest battle I’ve ever had in life.”
