Triple M and the Australian's Brent Read is reporting that Michael Maguire will only take on the role (if selected) once the club has sorted out its ownership situation.
There are increasing reports Maguire is locked in a two-way battle for the job with Broncos assistant Jason Demetriou, however Maguire has told Read unless the ownership is sorted, he isn't signing on the dotted line.
"I explored the situation but I will not be part of a club without knowing the owner and their version of success," Maguire said.
The NRL are in the process of selling the club with a number of suitors vying for the franchise, but the sale won't be finalised before the end of the year, which could see Maguire drop off in the race.
