West Coast says star midfielder Andrew Gaff is not on the trade table.
Gaff has been linked to a return home to Victoria, with St Kilda one club who has made an enquiry.
St Kilda chief operating officer Ameet Bains has suggested his club has floated the question about luring him over.
But West Coast list manager Craig Vozzo has flattened those discussions.
"We, Andrew and his management have all been surprised with the speculation," he told afl.com.au.
"It has no merit and it isn't something either party has or will consider."
Gaff is contracted until the end of 2018, when he becomes a restricted free agent.
The 25-year-old has averaged just shy of 30 disposals a game in each of the past three seasons, polling 47 Brownlow votes in that time.
