Triple M's Damian Barrett has linked another two clubs to the race for GWS star Dylan Shiel, tipping him to leave the Giants at the end of the season.
HEAR THE TWO CLUBS:
Shiel is contracted until the end of next season, where he will earn free agency status, but that hasn't stopped talk he could return to Victoria.
The 25-year-old has been linked to both Carlton and St Kilda with million-dollar offers so far, while Sydney has also been mentioned.
Barrett, speaking on Triple M's Saturday Rub, introduced two more clubs into the race.
"I still expect him to leave GWS, despite the contract and despite the public commentary around him in the past fortnight," he told Triple M.
"Enough groundwork was done by his management to know what's around for him.
"There’s opportunities everywhere. Essendon, Hawthorn are the prime examples there. (It's) massive money, and while they’re still alive in the finals system this year, GWS, it’s just been pushed pause on."
BT asked if there were salary cap issues present at the Giants, which Damo confirmed.
"That’s what it comes down to," he replied.
"It’s a minimum of a million dollars that they need to move out on their budgets for 2019, and it may well be as high as two million dollars that they need to move out.
"Either way, they’ve planned for this to be the case, but they thought they were going to be doing it, BT, with having had the luxury of a premiership in one of the past three seasons."
