A Townsville man and his dog stranded in waters off the coast of Bundaberg have been picked up by Rescue crews.

The pair spent a long 16 hours on a jetski on Saturday night after heading out around 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday morning an air and sea search was launched.

The Townsville man and his staffy "Stubby" were luckily tracked down thanks to an EPIRB signal.

The pair are in a stable condition.
