It's official: your commute to work sucks.
The results show that travel time almost doubles in some areas during peak-hour, with an average addition of 11 minutes the trip of CBD workers who commute.
Research from the Grattan Institute has confirmed these somewhat unsurprising findings through an analysis of Google Maps data.
The numbers were taken 25 times a day for six months across hundreds of work commutes - including 41 routes into the CBD.
Commuters from the outer suburbs appear to have the hardest slog, with a CBD worker from Campbelltown spending roughly 77 minutes driving what is normally a 44-minute trip.
For people who travel into the city from Liverpool, a 31 minute drive blows out to a 65 minute crawl during peak hour.
A trip from Penrith that would take 50 minutes at midnight is a whopping 75 minutes during the morning rush.
