Royal North Shore has issued an alert following confirmation of a measles case on the Northern Beaches.
According to a post on the Royal North Shore Hospital Facebook page, the Sydney Local Health District has released the warning after a person travelled throughout the Northern Beaches and Parramatta over the weekend while infectious.
The person is understood to have spent time at the following places:
- Warringah Mall
- Borders Skatepark, Brookvale
- Decked Out Games, Brookvale
- Skate parks at Miller Reserve, Cromer
- St Matthews Farm, Manly Vale
- Riverside Theatre, Parramatta.
Anyone who visited these areas over the weekend is advised to be aware of symptoms of the measles and seek medical attention if they are unwell.
Symptoms include sore eyes, a cough, fever and a non-itchy rash several days later.
