An emergency situation is unfolding in Banksmeadow, with severe flooding after a burst water main in the area.
Backyard and homes in the area are filling up fast with the water, with Botany Road cut in half by the huge volume of water.
Sydney Water is responding to a water main break on Botany Road. Safety is our number one priority and our crews were on site quickly. Crews have isolated the break and have now started urgent repairs. At this stage it’s too early to tell what’s caused the break. Water supply has returned to normal and a Customer Liaison Officer will soon be on site to assist any affected customers. Botany Road is expected to re-open soon. Sydney Water sincerely apologises to affected customers and motorists and thanks them for their patience.
