Mildura Rural City Council Mayor Glenn Milne has called on the State Government to reconsider it's stance on regional funding; expressing his concern for the future the of the Mildura Country Music Festival.
Officials are celebrating the success of this year's Mildura Country Music Festival, with the event bringing millions to the local economy.
The event has been running for more than 31 years, with motels, hotels, and caravan parks booked for the week.
The Mayor says the event is one of the longest running in our region, and has called on the State Government to rethink it's regional funding for the future of the event, and consider it's event funding priorities in rural and regional Victoria.
Officials happy with the funding injection into the local economy and the flow on effect it has in terms of jobs.
The Mayor is urging the Government to reconsider it's funding stance for the festival; with hopes Council can secure ongoing State Government funding.
