A 3 million dollar development will make its way to Merbein South; with a petrol station and convenience store set to be built on the corner of River Avenue and the Sturt Highway.
Sunraysia Daily reports - The site was chosen as a makeshift half way point between Sydney and Adelaide, with B - Doubles making their way through the region regularly.
The location was originally criticised due to farming zones, but will now go ahead; led by Queensland group Millstock Holdings.
The large station is set to accommodate the larger trucks, and is planned to be open 24 hours for travelers and locals.
The development includes a convenience store and a petrol station, as well as places to eat, shower and unwind.
The works are expected to take 18 to 24 months to complete.
