Scottish clans from across the lands will be joined from people from all cultures kilting up and heading to Collie for the Collie Clan Gathering being held 10am-5pm, Saturday, 14 October, a celebration of Scottish music, dance, games and cuisine.
Stroll through market stalls along the arboretum at the Coombes Street entrance of Wallsend Grounds and make your way to the Clan Gathering tents with highland games and mediaeval re-enactments. Highland dancers will perform traditional dances and hold fun, interactive workshops on a specially constructedsprung dance floor.
Visit the Highland Tavern for traditional Scottish and Irish beers, as well as the best from our local producers.Tempt the palate with traditional Scottish fayre, including Haggis, BBQ square sausages and Scottish pies. Take a quick breather before heading to the Italian Club in Collie for the Collie Clan Gathering Ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”). This traditional Scottish social gathering includes folk music and singing, traditional dances and storytelling.
Round out your weekend at Harris River Estate on Sunday with a Clan Cultural Taster. Experience two cultures overlooking the beautiful vines and grounds with bite-sized Scottish fayre and local Noongar bush tucker washed down with a glass of locally produced award-winning wine, Estate-made beer or cider.
