Police have confirmed they're investigating if one of WA's most wanted men held up a McDonald's store in Duncraig last night.
Dozens of armed Officers including the Tactical Response Group rushed to the outlet after a man armed with a gun threatened staff.
Its believed the large response was due to suspicions it was Shawn Adam Newton.
Police have now flooded the area near the store as they step up the search for Mr Newton.
They've also released pictures of what he might look like in a wig, which they think he may be using to disguise himself.
Homicide Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Dean Bailey said, "we are also investigating a number of burglary offences that Mr Newton may be linked to during the past week.”
"It is common for people who are actively trying to elude police to commit crimes in an effort to support themselves,” he said.
The 42 year old is still wanted for questioning over the death of a mother, whose body was found in a car on the Mitchell freeway more than two weeks ago.
Anyone who sees Mr Newton is urged to not approach him, and instead to call WA Police on 131 444.
