Newcastle Police say it was pleasing to see everyone behaving so well at the Supercars over the weekend, with only four people arrested.
Two people were charged over an assault on the corner of King and Crown Streets on Saturday night.
One person was arrested over an incident at Saturday's Cold Chisel concert..
While a Sydney man's accused of punching a security guard after trying to get into the residents-only area yesterday.
"When you see large crowds, there is always an element that wants to do the wrong thing," Assistant Commissioner Max Mitchell said.
"But walking through the crowds over the last few days it was just so pleasing to see people in the city enjoying themselves, they were respectful, everyone was engaging, it was just a fantastic atmosphere."
Highway Patrol officers were also kept busy on the roads around Newcastle, conducting over 5,000 random breath tests. More than 300 speeding fines were handed out.
