It’s almost too difficult to fathom that 15 years ago today, many Aussies had their lives ripped apart at the hands of an evil terrorist attack in Bali.
The terrorist attack, which occurred on October 12, 2002, devastated people from all over the world, killing 202 people, of which 88 were Australian.
To mark the solemn occasion and commemorate the lives of those that were lost, around 200 people are expected to gather at the site in Kuta from 4pm local time today.
In Perth, where a significant amount of the Australian victims hailed from, around 60 people have attended a service at the Kings Park memorial.
The thoughts of many Australians will no doubt turn to the family and friends of the victims at some stage today. May they rest in peace.
