VicRoads is working towards improving road safety along the Midland Highway between Stanhope and Shepparton as part of the Towards Zero initiation, which aims to decrease the number of fatalities and injuries on Victorian roads.
The improvements are well underway with new overtaking lanes, safety barriers, roundabouts, and wider lanes for traffic. There are new turning lanes at the entrance to Ferrari Park in Mooroopna, and traffic lights are now being installed at the intersection of Midland Highway and KidsTown.
Throughout the construction of these traffic lights, temporary traffic management will be implemented for the safety of workers and drivers, including reduced speed limits and traffic directing teams. VicRoads encourages road users to consider how these changes might affect travel times, and plan ahead to avoid frustration.
What are some other road changes you’d like to see implemented?
