Crime rates in Moira Shire are causing increasing concern to residents and politicians, with calls strengthening for a greater police presence to be based in the area.

Across the past year to June, total crime in Cobram rose by 35.5 percent, thefts skyrocketing by 77.5 percent. 

In Yarrawonga we saw a 38 percent crime increase, with property and deception offences rising 32.1 percent.

Buller Ski Lifts is donating the profits of the final day of the snow season to the Mansfield District Hospital.

It's in celebration of an extended snow season, to Sunday October 8.
