Stadiums Queensland Bleeding Cash Despite Crowd Boost

Despite a boost in numbers from the Commonwealth Games earlier this year Stadiums Queensland is still bleeding money.

Nearly 440,000 people headed along to Metricon Stadium last financial year, more than double the figure from the previous 12 months, while an extra 30,000 people went along to Cbus Super Stadium.

However according to the Stadiums Queensland annual report reportedly attained by News Corp, the group recorded an operating loss of $22 million across its nine facilities, despite getting $57 million from the taxpayer.

A state-government funded report looking into the organisation is due later this year.
